Volunteering with Re-Act Refugee Action Scotland is a great way to support our community projects and donation days. Roles vary in scope, and while some may require specific experience, many are open to all. We offer a variety of roles, including helping with donation days, supporting community projects, assisting with events, and providing administrative support. Availability depends on current project needs, but it never hurts to get in touch – we’re always happy to explore how you can contribute!

It depends on the role. While many volunteer opportunities are open to individuals from various backgrounds, roles involving direct engagement with refugees require a high level of sensitivity and expertise. Given the complex and often traumatic experiences refugees may have faced, volunteers in these positions must have relevant qualifications and experience in supporting vulnerable communities. Many other opportunities, however, are open to volunteers from all backgrounds, and we’ll help match you with the right role based on your skills and interests.

Yes! We welcome group volunteering and are happy to coordinate with businesses, schools, or other organizations looking to get involved.

Volunteering with Re-Act is unpaid, but it’s an incredibly rewarding way to contribute to a meaningful cause and gain valuable experience.

Yes! While many of our projects are based in Edinburgh, we have remote volunteer opportunities and can also accommodate those willing to travel to specific locations.
